A Few Reasons Why Your Boss Should Approve your Trip to AU 2014
Getting budgetary approval to attend Autodesk University 2014 (AU) isn’t always easy for cash-strapped government agencies but the team over at AU is pulling out the stops to ensure attendees get tons of value from this year’s event.
Take the Advance Pass offer, for example, which could save you up to $600 on a three day pass to AU 2014. Each pass comes with a code that you can use between August 20-26 to pick your preferred classes, events and accommodation at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas – before registration opens to the masses.
Note what I said about “preferred classes”. If you’re looking for an AU experience that focuses on your area of interest, whether it’s transportation infrastructure design, BIM or wastewater management, and more, this year’s event is worth talking to your boss about.
Tailored experiences aren’t a new concept at AU, they were successfully introduced last year, but for 2014 Autodesk is bringing more educations offerings across more industries. The schedule is preliminary at this point, but we do know that these “industry-specific summits” will include the following:
- Infrastructure – A hot topic for govies, classes include:
- Create a Custom Subassembly and Build a Roadway Corridor Model for AMG Operations
- The Infrastructure Relay Race: True BIM Workflows Starting in Autodesk InfraWorks 360
- Daylight Modeling with ElumTools
- Industrial Robotic CNC Machining Using PowerMILL Robot
- Autodesk Fusion 360 CAM Intro: Create with CAM—an Introduction to CAM Inside Fusion 360
- Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis: Making the Change
- Construction
- Architecture
- Education
- Reality Computing – Classes include Subassembly Composer for Autodesk Civil 3D 2015, Getting the Most out of Autodesk ReCap, and Wind Stress Study for Designers.
- Automotive
Looking for a more focused experience? The AU “PowerTracks” are a popular with attendees because they build upon each other to create a complete curriculum. Some of the classes this year include:
- InfraWorks 360
- Alias for Transportation and Industrial Designers
- BIM for Rail
- VDC Managers
- Moldflow
Now, with that Advance Pass at your disposal, which classes will you be attending?
