Autodesk CAD Manager Center – A New Online Educational Resource
A few weeks ago I blogged about how your organization can find the right kind of Autodesk software training. Well, here’s another option to add to your list. Last month, Autodesk unveiled the Autodesk CAD Manager Center.
The site offers a number of best practices, software tips, and guides on how the CAD manager can stay on top of the latest trends and become a better CAD manager. Although its positioned at design and engineering firms in the private sector, there are some great educational resources for govies.
For example, this “how to” guide in the Software Management section explains how software administrators can transition to a subscription license model, while this article offers time-saving online tools and utilities that help CAD managers stay up-to-speed.
Check it out, the site is still new, so expect new resources to be added over time. You can also sign-up for email updates.

Historic buildings hold a special place in the hearts of architects, workplace planners, and employees. There’s something alluring about creating workspaces within the confines of century-old stone or retrofitting a Victorian Era home into offices.

Renovations projects are a particular challenge since the infrastructure or building may be decades old and designed before the age of digital blueprints. You’re almost guaranteed to start a project using static 2D image documentation of existing conditions. Verifying and updating these manually is a lot of leg work.
