CEO Insight: Contending with the New Normal in Public Sector
We’ve reached the halfway point of 2013, which also signals the beginning of the federal fiscal year end (FFYE). This is a good time to take a second and survey what we’ve seen so far and what we can expect over the next six months.
Federal Fiscal Year End – DLT Is Running on All Cylinders
As the OMB can attest, for a lot of federal IT procurement folks, September signals a rush to exhaust the current year’s budget. The “use it or lose it” mentality takes over and agency officials look to spend what’s remaining of last year’s fiscal funding as well as guarantee a healthy future budget. The end-of-year feeding frenzy is alive and well in the federal government which for DLT means in September, we’re running on all cylinders.
We understand the last minute push agencies experience when preparing bids, publishing proposals, and making awards during the fiscal year-end busy season. With over 20 years experience providing the best in IT solutions and support to the federal government, DLT does our best to simplify year end IT procurement.
Keep Your Spirits Up! The DLT Social Committee Boosts Employee Morale During FFYE
To say things get a little “hectic” around here during federal fiscal year-end in September, may be the understatement of the century. Last year for example, almost 20% of DLT’s fiscal year sales were brought in during the month of September alone.
Numbers like that don’t come easy. They’re made possible by hard work and long hours. Hours that definitely take their toll on employees. So to help talk our employees off the fiscal year-end ledge, the DLT Social Committee does their best to create a fun work environment and boost employee morale in the busiest month of the year.
