Pennsylvania Education Purchasing Program for Microcomputers (PEPPM) - Pennsylvania
About PEPPM
PEPPM is a national purchasing cooperative serving education agencies and other public sector governments throughout the United States. The PEPPM cooperative is a program of the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU), an educational service agency in Pennsylvania. The CSIU is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, created by the Pennsylvania Legislature. The CSIU’s legal authorities include the ability to seek bids for products and services and then award shareable purchasing contracts for the benefit of other agencies, including schools, cities, counties, special districts, and universities inside and outside of Pennsylvania. It has continuously operated the PEPPM program since 1982.
While PEPPM is based in Pennsylvania, we work closely with Kern County Superintendent of Schools (KCSOS) in California as another lead agency for our bids. The KCSOS Request for Bids (RFB) satisfies California's bidding laws, and the CSIU's RFB satisfies Pennsylvania's bidding laws.
Schools and other government agencies from all 50 states have used PEPPM contracts to bypass the red tape needed to make their purchases. Even political subdivisions in U.S. territories are eligible. By using a PEPPM cooperative contract instead of going to bid by themselves, school districts, universities, and other government agencies will get the technology solution they desire, instead of being stuck with a low-bid solution they don’t want from an unknown, untested vendor.
PEPPM users achieve lower costs of acquisition for their technology products. They also enjoy the promise from awarded vendors to offer their best national cooperative price – all this under the confidence of using competitively bid contracts awarded by a fellow educational agency. With more than two million products under contract, the PEPPM technology purchasing cooperative is the nation’s most comprehensive source for public agencies to research and procure technology brands that meet their own local standards.
