Symantec to Rely on Partners After Restructuring
Symantec CEO Steve Bennett is refocusing the company and in doing so, restructuring it too. The changes include a heavy reduction to their sales force and a new emphasis on their partners to help mitigate the adjustment. Autodesk and NASA Developing New Technology
NASA and Autodesk are partnering to research and develop technology to “monitor and optimize the operational life-cycle of high performance buildings.” They’ll base their project on Autodesk Project Dasher technology – a Building Information Modeling (BIM) platform that provides performance data in real-time, throughout a building’s entire life-cycle. Red Hat Uses ManageIQ Acquisition to Further Cloud Offerings
Red Hat recently closed their acquisition of ManageIQ, and recently we found out their strategy. They are going to use ManageIQ’s enterprise cloud management and automation technologies to expand their own CloudForms hybrid Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering. Bryan Che, general manager of Red Hat’s cloud business unit said, “With this combination, we can offer our customers an unparalled open hybrid cloud management portfolio.” InfoWorld has the complete story.

It's finally here!
Amazon Web Services (AWS) just announced that the Elastic File System (or "EFS") is a live production service. The service is provisioned out of three regions currently: US-EAST-1, US-WEST-2, and EU-WEST-1.
EFS was originally announced over a year ago at AWS re:Invent in 2015. By AWS standards, the service has been in "preview" for quite some time. I'll admit to you, I was getting a little skeptical that it was going to make it out of preview, but hey, it's good to be wrong sometimes.

Terrestrial laser scanning or LiDAR is just one example of reality capture (or recap) at work. But recap hasn’t always been easy.
