Fore! Golf is an Employee Favorite at DLT Solutions
As you know, shooting 18 holes can be just as important to doing business as board meetings and monthly reports. Golf is as entwined into the culture of the corporate world perhaps as much as the monthly P&L sheets. And at DLT, whether playing it or supporting it, golf is as popular as anywhere.
Through the DLT Foundation, the charitable arm of DLT Solutions, we have sponsored several golf tournaments near and dear to our employees’ hearts. In 2010, DLT sponsored the Ashley Rose Classic, a Down Syndrome Awareness golf tournament to benefit the Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation.
Knowing firsthand the impact Parkinson’s disease can have on individual and his or her loved ones, a few employees have even organized a golf tournament to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF). The tournament is going on its fifth year and has raised more than $30,000 for the MJFF as well as the National Parkinson’s Foundation. The 2009 tournament was hosted at the beautiful and challenging River Creek Country Club nestled along the Potomac River.
In addition to supporting and hosting golf tournaments through the DLT Foundation, several members of our senior management team and workforce are terrific golfers.
President and CEO, Rick Marcotte has single digit handicap. Two years ago Russ Holmes, Senior Vice President of the Enterprise Application; Chris Laggini, Vice President of Human Resources; and Craig Adler, Chief Financial Officer took up the sport, and along with Rick, the foursome gets together a few times a year.
Team trips are another popular time for employees to get together to hit the links. Laggini is especially fond of the team trip golf outings including one year when he was forced to play barefoot because he forgot to pack his golf shoes.

DLT's Josh Tehan has experienced every parent’s worst nightmare – being told your child has cancer. His son, Ethan, who is now cancer-free, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the age of 3 and underwent three years of chemotherapy.
Now that Ethan is living the life of a typical, healthy 15-year-old, his dad wants to help other children and parents going through blood cancer treatment by raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).

It's finally here!
Amazon Web Services (AWS) just announced that the Elastic File System (or "EFS") is a live production service. The service is provisioned out of three regions currently: US-EAST-1, US-WEST-2, and EU-WEST-1.
EFS was originally announced over a year ago at AWS re:Invent in 2015. By AWS standards, the service has been in "preview" for quite some time. I'll admit to you, I was getting a little skeptical that it was going to make it out of preview, but hey, it's good to be wrong sometimes.

Terrestrial laser scanning or LiDAR is just one example of reality capture (or recap) at work. But recap hasn’t always been easy. Scanning techniques are often expensive and the task of incorporating and manipulating large data sets (point clouds) during the design process is tricky.
