DON’T PANIC

"In many of the more relaxed civilizations on the Outer Eastern Rim of the Galaxy, the Hitchhiker's Guide has already supplanted the great Encyclopaedia Galactica as the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom, for though it has many omissions and contains much that is apocryphal, or at least wildly inaccurate, it scores over the older, more pedestrian work in two important respects. First, it is slightly cheaper; and secondly it has the words DON'T PANIC inscribed in large friendly letters on its cover." -- Douglas Adams, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy It is this quote that I am reminded of on a daily basis here at the DLT Service Center where we solve very urgent technical issues with Symantec, NetApp, and Quantum products for our customers.Typically, our callers call in when data has hit the fan.  In most cases we must manage the customer’s stress of the often pressure pushed down from them from management to recover critical data or resume a vital service.  It is in these moments I want to tell the end-user "DON’T PANIC"… our team of Senior Engineers go through the most rigorous training to meet the requirements to provide support for each product.  In addition to the rigorous training, we have years of specialized IT training predating the DOT COM boom (Yes, we are familiar with Commodore 64’s, IBM AT’s, and Apple IIe’s).  In fact, our engineers have solid UNIX/Linux and Windows backgrounds.  These seasoned engineers are ones solving your problems in the time of crisis… if there is a way to recover data or resume service, our team can do it.  We do not have a singular magical repository of knowledge to fix your technical problems, we do however, have a team of highly experienced engineers armed with the proper training, skill-sets, and documentation to resolve your issue. To get to know some our engineering personnel please frequent their blogs here, and above all else… DON’T PANIC!
