Ready! Set! Build! The DLT Annual Gingerbread House Building Contest
Every year around the holidays, DLT Solutions helps our employees get into the holiday spirit with activities like the Toys for Tots toy drive and the infamous Ugly Sweater contest. One event in particular though, is as popular as it is delicious – the annual gingerbread house building competition!
Dubbed the Ginger Build, the annual gingerbread house building competition has become a staple of DLT’s holiday activities lineup. Teams of 4 sign up to compete for their chance to build the most creative culinary creation. The DLT Social Committee provides everything the employees need and teams compete for their chance to rank in three separate categories:
- Best Overall House
- Best Craftsmanship
- Most DLT-ized House
As an added incentive to spread additional holiday cheer to those less fortunate, teams are allowed to bring in “extra building material” for their houses if they bring in a new, unwrapped toy for our annual Toys for Tots toy drive competition.
And at DLT we play for keeps! Winning teams in the past have been rewarded with gift cards to fantastic area restaurants like M&S Grill.

DLT's Josh Tehan has experienced every parent’s worst nightmare – being told your child has cancer. His son, Ethan, who is now cancer-free, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the age of 3 and underwent three years of chemotherapy.
Now that Ethan is living the life of a typical, healthy 15-year-old, his dad wants to help other children and parents going through blood cancer treatment by raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).

It's finally here!
Amazon Web Services (AWS) just announced that the Elastic File System (or "EFS") is a live production service. The service is provisioned out of three regions currently: US-EAST-1, US-WEST-2, and EU-WEST-1.
EFS was originally announced over a year ago at AWS re:Invent in 2015. By AWS standards, the service has been in "preview" for quite some time. I'll admit to you, I was getting a little skeptical that it was going to make it out of preview, but hey, it's good to be wrong sometimes.

Terrestrial laser scanning or LiDAR is just one example of reality capture (or recap) at work. But recap hasn’t always been easy.
